Having watched the number of entries dwindle every year we finally plucked up the courage to enter Monmouth Carnival for the first time. We had great fun planning our float, making the costumes and decorating the truck. It all took time and effort, but surprisingly little money and everyone involved enjoyed helping. The human bees and butterfly on our float braved the rain and had a great response from the crowd.
Preparations
The view from the back of the truck, with tree ferns and an arbour. The sides covered with leylandii branches and ivy.
Front view with loads of spinners and the hanging baskets on the arbour.
